FYI, this episode was shot in 4K so that they could fix some wobble/framing issues in post if needed. And it was 1 shot, with about 8 takes, and 2 camera operators. I've got the technical breif document if anyone is interest, as a cameraman it makes fasinaing reading.

Yes, technically very impressive - some clever stuff there, such as near the beginning of the episode when going down a rectangular staircase inside the burning house, with the cameraman going off where the bannister should be at the top (presumably on a ladder or something) and then backing down at the bottom into the downstairs of the house, all whilst the paramedic is actually using the stairs.

Cameraman in a harness, stepping into thin air as grips take over an lower him down safely then disconnect the harness so he can carry on.

The technical brief would be good to see!

I remember The Bill trying a one shot for their final episode, with each characters final line being in that shot. Worked out alright.

The Casualty execution was good, however the end shot could've pulled out futher to the front of the hospital as another ambukance arrives.

If anyone hasn't seen it already, there is a behind the scenes video on their Facebook page showing how some of the filming was done, including when the cameraman went from upstairs to downstairs without going down the stairs

Yes the two girls random story seems a bit odd and annoying, but I guess it was a way to link various departments and staff members together without the need to randomly follow a staff member in silence as they walked between areas.

Technically it was impressive, though the CGI rubble in the blast pre-titles looked blatantly computer generated.

If anything I'd have thought the "rubble" was real - polystyrene bits blasted out with an air cannon. There was one bit of the explosion flames that I thought looked a bit pasted-in - and may have only been done to cover up something revealing - but other than that I couldn't be sure at all.

I suspect that after 8 takes, anyone on the crew suggesting as much as they called cut would probably have found themselves in the back of an ambulance.
