I think Holby is supposed to be near to Bristol,

To be honest I think that's gone out of the window now.

It's been slowly losing that since Duffy suddenly lost her west country accent.

Clip on the Casualty website seems to have an image of the new titles - looks quite nice if they are.

Did I see Welsh writing on a road sign covered up with a white sticker?

I noticed that too. Obviously if it's still set in England they have no choice.

Thought it was a good episode tonight. I like the new set (particularly the way there's a clear line between where the patients are treated and the public are - it always seemed strange to me in the last version of the set that the reception was right next to recuss) and the new titles, although would have welcomed a slightly remixed theme.

The area in which the old teacher throughout the episode and the fireman at the end of the episode were looked similar to the old recuss - what is it now? Just a basic treatment area?

Just watched it on iPlayer! excellent show! although shouldn't a 'helipad' have been used, or would it have been to difficult to add to a set?

Well when are we next going to see a helicopter arrive? Can't imagine it will be a regular.

Out of interest is there a road to no where somewhere where the dual carriageway scenes are filmed?

Presentation-wise, I'm still undecided on the new titles. I guess it gets them out of having to update it each time a character joins/leaves. I think a remix or something like that with the music would have been good, at the moment I'm not sure it fits with the new titles.

Nice episode though, the question is whether the helicopter is going to be a permanent feature now or just a one-off expense for the first episode of the series, especially now that the doctor has joined the A&E team.

I think (although don't quote me) that the road in question was a section of dual carriageway around the western end of Newport, in and around the Cleppa Park / Celtic Springs area -- the pylons certainly help pinpoint it to somewhere round here : http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=51.553567,-3.045702&spn=0.015423,0.038581&t=m&z=15&vpsrc=6&layer=c&cbll=51.553328,-3.045744&panoid=SsUdQ6apQ_ywwKJnihP3hA&cbp=12,202.02,,0,9.91

The stretch I've linked to is easily bypassed and not very well used outside of office hours.
