On Tuesday and Wednesday 20th/21st of November, Carlton London are going to show different programmes than everyone else.

On the TUESDAY, Everyone besides Carlton will show:

19:00 Emmerdale
19:30 The Big Match - Liverpool V Barcelona
22:00 ITV News at Ten
22:20 Weather Warning UK
23:20 Regional News
23:30 The Big Match Highlights
00:35 Take the Mike

Meanwhile Carlton in London will show:

19:00 Emmerdale
19:30 Regional Programme
20:00 Who wants to be a Millionaire?
21:00 The Bill
22:00 ITV News at Ten
22:20 The Big Match Highlights
23:20 Regional News
23:30 When Stunts Go Bad 2
00:35 Take the Mike

On WEDNESDAY, Everyone else will show

19:00 Emmerdale
19:30 Regional Programme
20:00 Coronation Street
20:30 Who wants to be a Millionaire?
21:30 The Bill - 45 minutes long Confused Confused Confused
22:15 ITV News at Ten
22:35 The Big Match Highlights
23:35 Regional News
23:45 Regional Variations

Carlton will show

19:00 Emmerdale

21:45 Coronation Street
22:15 ITV News at Ten
22:35 Weather Warning UK
23:35 Regional News
23:45 The Big Match Highlights

So I think it is safe to say, nobody will win a million during that episode.
It looks like the NPU will have to make 2 versions of each trailer.

Plus wouldn't it be fun for UTV announcers to announce on the network feed what was coming up next, Only for Carlton announcers to have to correct it!Very Happy

Is this the first time Carlton have opted themselves out of the network?

About time as well. There was a website a couple of years back from Arsenal fans in London complaining bitterly that Carlton weren't bothering to opt-out to show Arsenal matches, when Granada, Tyne Tees and YTV have all done so on various occasions (for Liverpool, Newcastle and Leeds respectively).

How good to see that Carlton are finally taking the views of their viewers seriously Wink

I wonder though, how Liverpool fans in London are going to see the Liverpool match though?

And I don't understand how UTV fits into all this. Presumably you mean ITV. I'd guess that Carlton would have their own versions of programmes to sort this sort of stuff out. Whether Network Centre would be so bothered about getting presentation right for one of the Granada North stations though, is open to debate...

People in the UTV area often complain about, over the end credits of such and such a programme, the Carlton announcer chimes up AND NEXT HERE ON ITV1 BLAH BLAH...., The UTV announcer then has to say that they were wrong, because they were showing 'Kelly' or something.

---

I can't recall Gra, TTTV or YTV opting out to show Football on a completely different day before though?

---

If you look carefully at the schedules, you'll see that WWTBAM? and The Bill are both shown once across all regions, The fact that Carlton's version of The Bill is 15 mins longer than everyone elses, is a bit suspect?

it was all on Wednesday nights in the heady days of Newcastle in the Champions League. I remember that the Tyne Tees version of the Champions League programme was fun to watch.

For some reason it was presented by Roger Tames (and not the Tyne Tees Match regular Ian Payne), was it Rodge trying to grab the lime-light? and they did try very hard to make it look like an ITV sport production...

Yes, I see what you mean. It would be funny to see Carlton having to do that. Can't see it though, as I say there is a very London-centred attitude within ITV Network Centre. Always has been.

Yes you are right. It will be interesting to see how Carlton deals with this, although I have to say it would be more interesting if it was a station other than London.....

Well Rodge is the head of Sport at Tyne Tees, perhaps they thought they needed a more experienced presenter at the helm... I recall their efforts to make it look like ITV Sport were not entirely successful, and the whole thing had a slightly amateurish Tyne Tees-y edge to it which I enjoyed Wink

I must say I'm surprised no-one's commented on the rather loose, slightly-less-than-totally-professional approach TT in Newcastle takes to everything they do Very Happy

There has also been mistakes galore when YTV showed Leeds United matches instead of Man United matches on ITV.

Especially problematic, as the Leeds game was on ITV2, and the continuity was being shared.

On some occasions, the full ITV2 programme was taken, other times YTV did their own studio bits.
Once we ended up watching a raw feed from the stadium with the commentators having a private conversation.Shocked

They won't be, the same number of programmes are being shown, just on diffrent days

What happens when they work out the ratings for that same episode of Millionaire and the Bill that are being shown on separate days. Do they add them together as one ?

I always thought that the Tuesday night Champions League games were not allowed to be screened on terrestrial TV live. I understand that they are exclusively for pay TV services such as ITV Digital.

I would be interested to actually see if this story is true, because never before have ITV screened a live Champions League game other than a Wednesday - (apaprt from a rescheduled one on a Thursday involving Arsenal a few years back under exceptional cirumstances).

Although if it is true, I'm happy, because Liverpool play a more attractive style of football than ManUre.
