Carlton, HTV and ITV1

Currently, the 3 regions called 'Carlton' have different style idents to the generic ITV versions, yet the heart motif and dual branding are included:

CARLTON*
itv

So, whatever the ITV1 idents (and it's regional variants - assuming there will be regional variants) look like, will the Carlton regions adopt it?

I doubt it. I say that b-cuz Carlton only recently changed the opening animation and jingle for the 2 HTV regions to match the Carlton style. Albeit that the HTV name is retained, with the generic endboard (spinning blue hearts). Why would Carlton go to that bother, if there were to soon be replaced by a new generic ITV1 look anyway?

Maybe Carlton will retain the current opening animations and jingle, but change the endboards (both the HTV and CARLTON* ones) to the new ITV1 style. (That might even mean that CARLTON* is written in yellow, not white!

here is an idea of carlton using the itv1 logo, i do hope they start using a generic itv1 ident though.

Check out http://www.itv.co.uk/region.htm where you'll see CARLTON* written in yellow (it used to be in black on that webpage - which was meant to represent white, as the white background wouldn't allow for this).

I hope the background isn't Carlton's swirling stars, but whatever the generic background used by everyone else is (and that goes for HTV too!)

I think the ITV1 name change was only annouced a bit last minute, at the time when they annouced the name change of On Digital.

Carlton will probably have already made the new HTV idents at this point

Looking at the regions page it appears Anglia does not have the `1` after itv on the corporate logo. Mistake?????
