It is the plan for the transmission for Carlton Central to be moved to LNN I think, but Leeds is to remain as a backup to LNN, retaining transmission for the regions it currently transmits, and also may take on transmission for UTV, Scottish TV and Grampian TV, should they be taken over by ITV plc.

Then it's up to UTV, Scottish, Grampian and Channel to make sure they aren't taken over. Even if that means finding a parent company within the region. Funny how UTV, with its independence, is the most profitable in the network...

That's probably because they don't spend any money on anything.

Well today at 5pm for the first time in ages and ages, that had an announcer introducing Dales program and It sounded live to me (Even though she did talk a bit TOO fast) its nice to know they decided to bother today with announcements.

Yeah and it would mean moving Granada Reports to Liverpool (Yeah) or one of the other small studios around the region. What is going on about region names will they stay? or will it be North West Reports etc?

That's more to do with its particular circumstances than the fact that it's independent.

Oh yes, Carlton's biggest program ever is Survivor! That really is the first show that springs to mind when the word Carlton is mentioned..
Well what are their other big shows? I associate Carlton with Crossroads, but I reckon that Carlton would rather I did not. Peak Practice then?

TV changes. People do not want to watch testcards. Like people listen to radio for the music, people watch their telly for the programmes, and nothing else. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Which is bizarre considering Survivor was produced by Planet 24.

if they had to move Coronation Street and all the sets

Please correct me if I am in error, but I thought the sets for Conternation Street were on a separate special lot from the main Granada TV building?

and it's good to have a Northern audience for some shows too.

Is that not the purpose of the modernized studios in Kirkstall Road?

And do Granada actually use the studios in the Albert Dock nowadays for anything other than maybe the odd Granada Reports interview?

I think stockholders have a right to be told.

The main Granada TV building (the one with the old red lettering) is directly behind "Coronation Street". I'm sure a lot of the preproduction is done in the offices of the main building. I think the sets are located in a building disguised as the viaduct at the end of the street, but I'm not sure.
