I don't think anything would have saved Crossroads which is a shame because if they had the right mix of old and new cast like the public wanted it may have worked better. The acting and the bad scripts were all part of the original Crossroads and was part of its charm. The second rehash was a complete joke.
But as for extra episodes of soap, I think Corrie and Emmerdale have enough. If you pump them out too much people start to miss episodes and don't bother to watch again until a decent storyline happens.
