News Alert: ITV is now back on Telewest, with Border Control, I'm not sure whether Telewest are airing Carlton feeds or LWT feeds as they have access to both, I'm sure we'll see soon....

There are no major events to my knowledge in Birmingham today, but most of the midlands is fed off the Sutton Coldfield mast, and i can't get through to them at the moment, their phone is engaged...

Surely the network must have contingency plans for these matters. Central must have chosen London as their backup (weekdays it would be Carlton anyway). Someone like Meridian would probably go for Anglia.

In fact, maybe this is why London is only branded as 'Carlton' or 'LWT' in presentation. If they are the standby region, normal adverts can run because they only say 'on ITV'. Just a thought.

I bet LWT continuity are loving every second of this!

Thinking about it, it can't be the mast, because other networks i.e BBC are still on the air, so it must be a prob at carlton... Carlton is in Nottingham now, so I'm trying my best to get hold of them there...

My thoughts are that they are having a severe output problem... A power failure or something...

Nothing sinister, I hope. Anyone live near their offices? (!)

Also, no adverts are being shown. Only trailers, I presume this is due to advertising restrictions.

Yorkshire TV is back to normal. There was only a slight hicup - and that was at about 3ish (can't remember what time excatly).

So, it seems the problems are with Carlton Central. We've not had any of the problems you've had and YTV on Telewest was always on - just like Analogue.

Is Carlton Central joining ITV for networked programming?

In YTV land, we're watching ITV News - what are you watching? The same?

A few minutes a go instead of the central ident it showed an itv ident which i have never seen before.

Isonstine: Regarding the ads, we had some before Border Control didn't we? If you are talking about before the news, it isn't uncommon to see no ads at certain times on LWT. Having said that, if the ads AREN'T running, LWT and Carlton will have to pay the advertisers compensation of some kind, won't they? In fact, Carlton would have to pay LWT for their loss, too!

Alexanderlebbon: Yes! It's because Central have joined LWT for whatever reason. To avoid confusion, LWT are running generic ITV idents in both regions announcing 'technical problems'. She refers to ITV, LWT and Carlton together!

Thats OK then, I didn't realise that was LWT's style.

Carlton Central would have made the programme 5 minutes shorter. Put 3 mins of ads in and 2 mins of trailers either site of the ad break.
