ITV have been selling off their non-core businesses. Don't think they have sold Carlton Screen advertising yet though.
I expect it's more a case of not having another name for it rather than there being any reasoning behind it. And why spend money renaming Carlton Screen Advertising just for the sake of it

I think the Granada and Carlton corporate identities don't really exist as was. However, Granada is ITV plc's fully owned production company. Perhaps for things like BBC productions it may be better to display a Granada ident than a ITV plc ident so they've left it. There are still quite a few Granada operations see HERE.
Interestingly at the bottom of this page it now rather depressingly gives their address as Granada, The
Carton Screen Advertising is just yet another fully owned ITV plc business. I seem to remember they are trying to sell it (so not much point changing it's name if your going to sell it). It's talked about HERE.
The other major cinema advertiser is Pearl and Dean who are owned by SMG as I remember.
Often (perhaps mostly) large companies are not just one corporate entity they are a set of companies owned by a parent (or even down a tree of companies). All of which are fully owned. This can be done for a number of reasons, Tax or limiting corporate liability. For example, Granada and Carlton managed to slice of the limb that was ITV Digital without bringing down the mother ships. And they managed to leave behind the debts too.

I didn't know Carlton Screen Advertising had anything to do with ITV (despite the name Carlton)

Indeed. Absolutely fantastic stuff. I'll try and find a video online.

Been ages since I saw it before a film, but from what I remember is it where theres a fire and a poker in the shape of the carlton star is placed into it, before being 'burned' onto the screen? If so I always loved the sound on that too.
