I'm sure there was one occasion during the Carlton era where Gas Street suffered a power failure or similar so the Midlands were fed London instead. I'm guessing there was no facility for Lenton Lane to pick up TX at this point.

I seem to remember one occasion was at the weekend, so the Midlands got LWT for a while.

I do remember getting LWT teletext on 600 around 2000 one Saturday night. It might be the same occasion.

In 2000 Pebble Mill was still open, so things would have been different.

I imagine Millbank is still part of the plan should BH become unavailable, quite what they would have done while Millbank was being refurbished is a good question, but probably not one that anybody who is in the know would be able to share the answer to.

I seem to recall it was a Sunday afternoon/early evening, but there may well have been other occasions
that went by unnoticed.

I've read about an occasion in the 80s when Thames had a fire alarm, and the IBA switched Crystal Palace
to rebroadcast TVS. TVS made no mention or concessions for the London viewers, part of the IBA's rules at the time apparently ?

I think two similar events occurred fairly recently. YTV couldn't broadcast so we had a pan-northern bulletin from Granada once. Likewise due to issues at BBC North East. Look North Leeds had a combined NE/Yorkshire Look North.

I know the same as happened vice versa before now, Calendar News appeared one Sunday on Granada because of a fire alarm at Quay Street, however Granada Weather still came on because at that time it still came from Leeds. It's not been uncommon that Border News has also failed, however they usually fell back to Granada. Can't say what happens now, if Border's down, then so is Tyne Tees, but I guess they'd back up to Granada or Yorkshire.

I daresay it would default to Yorkshire.
