Does anybody - particularly PZG - know anything about Canal+? You see their adverts at football matches, and seem to see their logo everywhere. As far as I can make out they have their own channels and satellite platforms in every European country except the UK - France, Belgium, Spain, Finland...
If anybody could put my mind at rest with any information or directions to a corporate website or something, I would greatly appreciate it!
There's also the same for Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium and so on and so forth. Besides the fact they are written in non-English, they say nothing about the company

I think there just a cable company. When I was in Belgium they had adverts for their digital service (which only had 6 channels or something). They provide a lot of pay-per-view channels/coverage too.

They have a film channel called FilmNet or something like that in the Netherlands. This shows porn and horror movies throughout the whole day which is a little odd coming from a society who know what the word 'watershed' means.

Didn't Canal+ merge with CNN to create CNN+ for Spain?
Filmnet doesn't exist anymore in The Netherlands. It's now called Canal +. We don't receive it by cable. You have to pay Canal +, if you want to receive it.
CNN+ is a joint venture between Sogecable (20% owned by Canal+ France and 20% by Prisa) and TBS ( a subsidiary of AOL Time Warner - the parent of CNN).
Canal+ is the largest and oldest pay-tv company in Europe. It is own by Vivendi Universal (although they only own 50% of the french Canal+ France channel due to French laws). It has operations in France, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Nordic Countries, Poland and French speaking Africa. At the end of 2000 they had 15,3 m subscribers.
They started in 1984 with only one channel Canal+. In 1989 they won a pay-tv license in Spain and they started broadcasting Canal + Spain. In 1992 they launched in France CanalSatellite (Analogue). In 1996 they introduced Europe's first digital tv package CanalSatellite Numérique. At the start of 1997 Sogecable (the spanish subsidiary) launched Canal Satélite Digital. They produce shows, theme channels and also the technology of their conditional access. They also own sport rights and the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club.
The structure of their digital package is a basic package with a premium channel Canal+ (at least three different versions), a film package and options.
