It's now moved to 7.25am and ITV3 are now showing Series 1. The episode I saw today I didn't think it was that bad, it was about a girl who was on top of a roof and it turned out that her sister was dead. Can't wait until Wednesday though when Series 2 starts with Sharon Gless, brilliant introductory credits and that excellent theme tune.
I recently bought the entire first series on DVD and was hooked to every moment of it. I think the earlier series' of CAL were much better than the latter ones. The earlier ones were more action loaded and crime-story focussed.
The latter series' tended to concentrate more on the private lives and mental states of the main and peripheral characters. Still great, award winning stuff, however.
Yes the later series also featured Mary-Beth's bubble perm, making her look like Hamble from Play School.
Not the best hair-do I've seen.
Also, those of us who watched it first time will remember the constant press stories surrounding the private life of Sharon Gless - which took the shine off the programme for many.
Still one of the best cop shows ever, though. No question.
