It's about time someone realised this modern look for Christmas is a big pile of crap.
Very traditional and very impressive.
I'd agree with Asa that whilst it is nice to have the flashy computer generate graphics, there's no harm in something that's different and traditional. Plus, something like this requires a great deal more thought, time and effort than getting a heart to flash about and have a few white bits falling down the screen.
Well done to Channel 5. And how nice to see the announcer taking notice of the ident!
very nice indeed! - seems channel 5 are really transforming themselves away from their cheap and tacky style... ive also noticed a shift in standards of programmes too recently. well done 5

Has anyone else also noticed the nice looking new 'coming up' slides, which look remarkably like BBC ones? They are sort of full screen pics with the 5-colour bar centred at the bottom and the big font that they use on trailers for the programme name just above, again centred. Very professional looking, as are the current trailer styles as well, which are similar but with the Channel 5 colours whizzing past in the background. Fingers crossed for equally good idents when the Christmas ones finish!

Having seen the Xmas Channel 5 idents for this year reminds me of the xmas ident that BBC TWO had back in December 1991, with the moon and spaceship. To me it seems as though the xmas idents for Five this year were done in a similar style.

That is true as they have got rid of those trashy US Daytime Soaps and there primetime line up is very good.
