C5 cockup before Footy

Channel Five made a nice mistake tonight before the football.

The 'Six Days Seven Nights' trailer stayed on for ages before cutting to the Pink ident and the announcer talking as usual. 'International football now followed by short news and tonight's comedy movie.' (At which point we should have gone to the footy.) Around 8secs of ident music before he comes back on saying 'And later on of course we've got cheaters. That's coming up at 10.40'

At this point, the ident disappears to black screen (full ident must be 25 seconds) and the guy comes on again and says 'And then at er, after that it's That 70s Show. Now the international football...' and the titles finally appear! Me thinks there should have been a trailer after the Six Days.. one.

You watch Channel 5???

OMG! I haven't watched that for months!

I watch channel 5, it can be good sometimes. People used to slag channel 4 off but look how thats turned out.

Channel 5 is getting better each day.
It's going to be more popular than some of Brit channels in about 3 years.

Has anyone ever seen (or captured!) any breakdown captions broadcast by Channel 5, or are they just far too automated to have a breakdown caption?

Are Channel 5 the only UK channel to never closedown BTW? (not even for forthcoming engineering tests?!)

Yes TV Archive,Channel 5 have never closed down,not even for Engineering tests.

(BTW Channel 5's ident's are now the worst ever ident's on TV. Who agrees with me!)

I think they're quite nice (better than ITV or C4) but they've got rid of their long versions (with C5 celebs) which is a shame. Menu and programme versions have recently been introduced.

Oh, and you can now select your ITV region, if applicable, from your Profile.

Their current idents are great, it was the previous set that were awful.

I quite like Channel 5 too, and their idents

I'd like them to be shown in proper widescreen though, rather than 14x9...

They might change them completely again soon, as they started off with the programme break bumpers/trail end boards in the same style as the idents, but they were changed to different ones a while ago.

Why were channel 5 captioning the geordie accents on the trailer for the footy, i found that very offensive
