This afternoon C4 bowed to pressure to postpone it's Iraq drama "The Mark of Cain" due to fears it could affect the situation in Iran.

And then a few minutes later, Iran announce the hostages will be freed!

Coincidence I'm sure, so I wonder if the postponement will stand, assuming Iran stick to their word.

I suspect it might to be honest as the show hasn't really been noticably trailed in the last week or so, presumably due to the Iran situation - so I expect they'll hold it back until they can air it on the back of a full promotional campaign!

And the publicity from the postponement won't do any harm I'm sure!

Ive seen the caps from it, with Gerard Kearns (Ian from Shamelss) in the bath - nude! All i can say is thankyou to whoever made this.

Gosh that sounds bad Cool The promo of Mark of Cain looks good - was it soley made by C4?

It looks very interesting and it's nice to see C4 at last getting out of the monotony of rubbish programmes like Wife Swap , Big bleeding Brother and the programmes with names like The Boy Born with a Carrot up his Bottom .

Erm, those "Boy born with Carrot up his bottom" are quite interesting IMO. One of the best programmes i seen in years was The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off - very touching.

Anyone watch this tonight?

Pretty damn good if you ask me - and I think they got the balance spot on in playing down the political side and concentrating instead on the characters involved.

I never saw "The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off" but I heard it was an excellent if sad documentary from people who saw it at work. I've also heard the same for others part of that strand of programming

how can you offer an opinion on a programme you did not see? this forum thrives on gossip and rumour, but i don't think that your work colleague's vague opinions are of particular interest.

I tend to find that the idea is that you're meant to be nude in a bath, because then you're likely to get a more thorough clean on your body.

Didn't get the ratings it deserved (just 900,000) but the critics seemed to like it, kind of. They all seem a bit pissed off with the opening disclaimer about it being a "dramatic work of fiction" - which I tend to agree with - I hate the obvious being stated!
