Well, C4 found a budget for Deal or No Deal and it's paid off!
That's true - still trying to work out where they're getting the money from! Mind you, hardly anyone goes away with the top prize!
anyway, back to ITV - good things are on their way, I just know it!

You have to bear in mind the budget for a show in this timeslot, it's not very much when compared with prime time shows.

Wasn't a Sharon Osbourne chat show muted at one point ?
She seems to have become ITV's latest darling.

Media Guardian reports today that Paul O'Grady's Channel 4 show will be identical to what his show was like on ITV. Even the name of the show will be 'The Paul O'Grady Show'. His pets and his organ and even producer 'Bert' are also likely to return. It could even be made in the same studio at The London Studios

What's really interesting is that C4 are rushing the new show into production for a March launch. It also won the Broadcast award for Best Daytime programme. I can't see ITV winning that category again for awhile.

Channel 4 is rushing star signing Paul O'Grady on air in late March with his award-winning daytime chatshow.
O'Grady, who was poached from ITV on a two-year exclusive daytime contract earlier this month, will first appear on Channel 4 on Monday March 27, when his 5pm show will return for a 12-week run.
Bookers for the programme, which is expected to retain the The Paul O'Grady Show as its title, have begun ringing agents and other broadcasters to start securing celebrity guests.
O'Grady's Channel 4 show will run from March 27 to Friday June 16, at which point Richard & Judy will take over the 5pm to 6pm weekday slot for the summer. O'Grady will then return for a second run on Channel 4 later in the year.
ITV is reported to be planning to broadcast repeats of its version of The Paul O'Grady Show against his new Channel 4 programme as a stop gap, while the broadcaster scrambles to commission replacement shows.
O'Grady's new Channel 4 programme is expected to be almost identical to his successful ITV1 chatshow, right down to the title.
Other familiar features of O'Grady's ITV1 show, including his dog Buster, other pets and the organ, are also likely to make the move to Channel 4.
Channel 4 is even planning to shoot the star's new show in the same studio in the ITV-owned London Studios on the South Bank.
However, there is a question mark over whether The Paul O'Grady Show will remain on the South Bank, with London Studios' management said to be coming under pressure from elsewhere within ITV not to take the booking for O'Grady's Channel 4 programme.

So ITV expect more people to watch REPEATS of the Paul O'Grady Show than to watch new episodes! No surprise at all!
If it is true (and as it's a stupid idea it probably is) it'll backfire - all it will do is promote POG even more and attract more viewers to his show.
As for the date - not surprised he begins when he does, but had expected him to do a full six month stint with Richard and Judy getting the summer off. It's better though IMO for them both to do three months on, three months off.
