After over a year of deliberation, C4 has announced plans to launch a new channel on Freeview and Sky next year - with the working title "More4".

More4 will be aimed at over 30's and include programmes from the 4 Homes strand and documentaries, as well as some imported entertainment strands.

Something for everyone then. Do you think the blocks logo will be used like on the first FilmFour logo, or will it have it's own symbol like E4?

Err, apart from those not in the demographic!

As to the look well I guess it depends on what the rebrand of C4 pops up with. Lame name though - good job it's just a working title.

That's another channel to add to my hate list. Too many channels about homes already.

Ok, so I'm not 30 yet, but I'm afraid I can't see the attraction of all these house and home shows.

All I can see on every one of them is a couple of people being ushered into a room, just for them to be momentarily lost for words. Then they coo a bit and continue to display any ability to express themselves.

Boring.

I thought we were getting a history channel. Channe; 4 can never make their mind up with this new channel, I'd be surprised if it ever launched at all.

Im not in the demorgraphic, but like the idea of drama & documentaries, as the history and science documentaries on 4 are better than anyone.

If it is to focus on drama and documentaries, surely they should go the e4 way and call it d4, then at least you would have c4, d4, e4 and f4. I like the idea of 4 producing many channels, as long as they arent all rubbish.

They could still do a 4 music channel and a t4 channel. I'd actually like to see the middle class route that channel 4 news has used within a news channel.

Well, only E4 exists as a brand (and T4 as a branded strand) - their other channels are officially Channel 4 and FilmFour. As for a News channel - Channel 4 News works well as an analytical news programme on for an hour a night - I doubt it would work 24/7.

This is one channel that would encourage me to go digital. It's basically Channel 4 with a few bits missing - hence More4. Unlike BBC4 I think the documentaries will be alot more accessible, while Channel 4's lifestyle programming has a much more intellectual feeling than similar stuff on BBC2.

I think it'll be a good addition to the 4 Channels family and to Freeview especially. It will probably do well in attracting floating viewers as people are much more likely to find a programme on "More4" than searching through the Discovery/UK TV documentary and lifestyle channels.

I know that they are known as Channel 4 and Filmfour, but it would make sense if ever they did change.

Thinking about it a 24/7 channel 4 news wouldnt work. But extra bulletins and special news programmes featuring one story (like newround extra/tonight with trevor mcdonald) may work on the new channel.

It seems like a good mix to complement e4, I wouldnt put a demographic on either of the channels as e4 can be watched by all of the family, yet focusses on entertainment, and this new planned channel can be watched by all ages and would focus on documentaries and drama, yet could still be watched by viewers younger than 30. I love some of the stuff they have on documentary wise, it was always good for history homework!

Im glad they didnt go for an e4 lite channel, they havent got much programming for e4 as it is! Are they still showing US Big Brother through the night or has this finished now? Id like to see more effort put in by channel 4 for original e4 programming to make that channel better, rather than showing a live feed of whatever show is going and a couple of hours of american imports at night!

That has now finished. Through the night it’s not that Bloody E4 Preview from about 3am. Before that Between 12 and 3 its repeats like Bo Selecta, Banzai, Queer as folk and Six feet under.

Well they'll have problems calling it M4
