P.S. digiperson - can you sort that link out so we don't have to scroll across please.

I have done so, but it wasn't stretched for me.

I know S4C has 104 in Wales, so does C4 have the 134 slot then?

Channel 4 is on 117 in Wales. 134 is vacant in Wales.

If the BBC ever wanted 117 back for BBC HD, then Channel 4 would have to move to 134 in Wales.

From the 20th August, C4+1 will be on channel...

Freeview : 13

New EPG Numbers, from 20th August : Freeview
More 4 - 14
E4 - 29
E4+1 - 30
Film 4 - 32
Film 4 +1 removed

How stupid - More4 and E4 are settled on 13/14 - and certainly should have priority over C4+1.

I was just about to say, I had a feeling Film4+1 would be dropped from Freeview to make way for C4+1, but to drop it straight in at position 13? But having said that it will move E4 next to its timeshift service like it is on other platforms instead of being on the other side of the EPG.

On a related note I see More4+1 is now going to sit next to its main service on Sky so all the Channel 4 owned stations bar C4 itself will be together in their own little block on Sky, channels 135-9.

Freeview wise, well it would have made sense to just drop C4+1 in at channel 32 and have it sit neatly alongside E4+1 and ITV2+1. But the nearer to the top of the EPG you can get, the better it is for your channel, in reality. I dare say C4 can swap the numbers around again if E4 viewership is badly affected and C4+1 isn't taking off.

Only thing I think they might do is when they take control of The Hits is nick number 18 and swap The Hits and E4.

However, still would have made more sense to leave More4/E4 untouched and launch C4+1 on Ch32, then move it to 18 if they can grab the slot.

It's not a box, it's a Nebula DigiTV PC card.

Presumably the C4+1 Project is aligned with ITV's testing of a regional statmux in London/SE?

Its not just the space issue, but C4 have announced that each of C4's macro regions will have a +1. At the moment this would imply that thee channels (ITV-1, C4, C4+1) would be outside the statmux in fixed bitrate allocation. Having regional ststmuxes, or at least a statmux per macro-region would give C4 more to play with.

As an observation, the only muxes engineered to regionalise are "1", "2" and "A", so C4+1 has to live on one of these. Presumably there will be 6 C4+1s on D-SAT?

Channel 4 +1 is now video testing off the EPG!! Complete with +1 DOG! (which looks a mess BTW)

Why cant they just use a normal dog! And why is it on the right, when the other 4 channels have left hand dogs!?
