Picture quality of C4+1 on Freeview leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't take much to create a mushy looking picture on this stream so give it something complicated (like Big Brother opening sequence for example) and it struggles.

They squeezed the programme to run a promo for Channel 4+1 along the bottom of the screen during Countdown today.

TV is dead.

They did that during Deal or No Deal as well.

...And last night's BB.

Not overly sure why they're doing such a big push for it - can they really command much greater ad rates on C4 by having a +1?

Yes, yes they can.

E4 - 1.6%
E4+1 - 0.5%
Total - 2.1% (Weekly Viewing Summary - 12 August 2007)

Channel 4 have everything to gain from this push - it should improve ratings and in turn advertising rates.

That's 30% of a low base though. I doubt C4 will see anything like such a jump

I'm glad Channel 4 has finally got a +1 Channel. I've missed no end of movies on Saturday nights because of schedule clashes.
