C4 to launch C4+1

The one good thing to come out of the EPG re-shuffle on Sky is that the main terrestrial broadcasters now have their digital channels grouped together. OK C4s are 2 pages after anyone elses, but it looks alot better organised with the +1s next to their main service.

I assume Five Life/US +1s will go next to their parent channel as there is a gap for them. Does anyone know when they are due to launch? (It's just a shame they are stuck right at the end of the entertainment section of the EPG.)

Worth noting that with the changes to the DoND competition (in it now closing at 11pm) it means the +1 edition of the show doesn't display a "Competition closed" message. I assume for programmes such as Big Brother they've a system in place to display a message telling people 'not to vote as lines have closed'.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a different version of the music used in the Lloyds TSB adverts of late. You know, the ones with the animated characters and trains and so on. Nice and relaxing though. Is this music used when there's a contractual issue, when there's a fault, or both?

Anyone else got E4 EPG data on More 4 and Channel 4+1 data on E4?

Hopefully that system will be a graphic and/or Davina Mccall saying 'lines close at xx:xx' on the live programme rather than sticking a giant 'Lines now closed' graphic over the +1 version. Channel 4 +1 should be the same as Channel 4 but 1 hour later, not Channel 4 edited for idiots who don't know they are watching a repeat.

Nope but this afternoon I had Channel 4+1 with listings but the station was still titled as More4, and same went for More4 getting E4's old name on the EPG.

A good rescan sorted that one out mind.

I had to do that too as I had two Film4s.

Can't be any worse than how ITV2 did it with Dancing On Ice (the filler programme with the ex CITV Presenter, not the main programme). Stuck a big blue banner on the +1 service across the bottom stating "this programme was shown earlier, lines are now closed" that didn't line up with any of the other graphics and left the numbers in full view anyway. Same thing happened with I'm A Celebrity and those phone-in games across the bottom - not chopped out on timeshift, rather relegated to a rotating strap in small print. Mind you ITV2 is notorious for not cutting its timeshift service when it joins Make Your Play/Glitterball.



I'm sure they've got it covered. . I remember when Channel 4 decided just for literally one night to run Quiz Call on E4 overnight. Once E4+1 had caught up, off the air it (deliberately) fell.

I dare say Big Brother will be littered with verbal references to "Lines close at 8:30pm tonight, viewers on Channel 4 Plus One don't phone, your call will be charged but your vote will not count" and printed messages in small text ("not available to C4+1 viewers"). You see this already on E4 Music, competitions and "text your video choice" vote with "not E4+1" disclaimers.

Also on E4+1 the DOG is brighter and moved to the other side of the screen so it's more obvious you are watching E4+1 during E4 Music.

Why have they put the DOG on the right-hand side rather than keeping with the theme of E4 or even E4+1 for example? Anyway, has anyone's else's box updated yet - I did a channel re-scan, but mine has the +1 listings but still shows More4 in place of where the channel name goes....! !!!

They would have to keep moving it, as it would be in the way of the T4 DOG, the Channel 4 News Live prompt, and Big Brother Live prompt. I think...
