C4 "Goes Back To"...each decade

I find it odd they're doing a Channel 4 retrospective now rather than in 2022 when it's the actual 40th birthday.

The graphics are based on all the ident sets they’ve had in the past. Some nice recreations.

Covid commission, I imagine.

Watching last nights now - nicely put together. Seems to have skipped the circle era with the graphics though.

Looks like they've given him a tribute by playing out one of the original idents. Lovely.

Using the square tonight on the title card, even though it only debuted in April 1999 - and not in the form they're using till the noughties.

Hmm, they appear to be used the 90's barcode-era ident for the titlecard but used the 80's music.

Odd they're using footage from an old More4 airing (with original logo) for Time Team.

Annoying me they're just using general stripes rather than having them move left to right as they did, even in the more abstract identifying. The circles would make more sense for the 90s, then square and stripes for the 00s and the floating 4 look for the 10s.
