C4 "Goes Back To"...each decade

I was going to put this in the most recent thread about The Big Breakfast ... but I thought it might be better here.

Seems like a panic COVID commission as it's just that little bit early for their 40th anniversary, but for me it is one of the highlights of the Christmas schedules and no doubt will get a rerun in 2022 too.

Vic Reeves seems an odd choice for the 90s though as I thought his C4 stint was in the 80s, but turns out it Big Night Out was 1990/91. A shame they couldn't get Chris Evans to front it though as he probably defined C4 Entertainment for much of the decade with The Big Breakfast, Don't Forget Your Toothbrush and TFI Friday.

They should have done this at the end of last year (as the four decades are the 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s). Unless this actually is a 40th Birthday thing, in which case Channel 4 4got how to count.

These start on Sunday - look like they'll be a decent watch.

Let’s hope Big Brother gets a mention.

By the looks of the trailer it seems to be a talking heads show, so look forward to that.

Perhaps they’ll introduce them with some old idents (blocks for 80s, circles for 90s, etc)?

I'm surprised really they've not used the same trailer endboard with the original logo as they're using for It's a Sin.

(P.S. Think C4 have switched to using their Christmas idents for all junctions today).

Hopefully. Mabey even modernised like the original blocks were recently for 'Its a Sin'

There was a nice titlecard though featuring it and the graphics feature the blocks.
