Somehow The IT Crowd has been recommisioned for an 8-part second series, despite poor ratings and a panning by the critics.

The good news though is that Peep Show has now been commissioned for a fourth series.

Any news on a couple of efforts from last year - Spoons and Meet the Magoons. I felt Meet the Magoons was far better than the IT Crowd!

In other news C4 are looking for a new Friday night entertainment show format, with Charlotte Church rumoured to be in the frame, along with Simon Amstell and Steve Jones.

In the nearer future Green Wing is returning soon, along with Derren Brown's Trick of the Mind.

i think the IT Crowd's picked up after a poor start. Last week's was pretty funny in places.

Channel 4 confirmed a month or so ago that Meet the Magoons won't be returning.

Apparently the first series of Father Ted never lived up to expectations then once it was given a second series, it was from there where it shone and got the acclaim that it gets today (ish!) So maybe thats the thinking behind the IT Crowd, same writer... maybe same perception for the future?

As for Charlotte Church, what are they thinking of? Did they see her presenting skills on Have I Got News for You which was largely just reading off a autocue. I've seen more life in a closedown than from her on that edition!

you just know they will put beauty and the geek on for a bit as the post cbb trauma is taking its toll with some shows ending and some not, personallt i really like the fnp but i still didn't think is was an experiment as it was the same thing all the time:
ideas: dump deborah stevenson as her dressing up as a chav is just not funny
:keep alan, rob and jimmy back, include chaz church and mabye their mum to host (It would be really funny eg Totally Scott Lee)
:no people from big brother
: new set the old one just cuts off half the audience as i found out when I went to christian slaters fnp, i couldnt even see the quiz

Beauty and the Geek (which is brilliant by the way) is down as coming to C4 in March.

I was under the impression that Peep Show had been axed, but Channel 4 were keen to develop new ideas with Mitchell and Webb. But anyway I'm not complaining, Peep Show is the funniest thing on Channel 4 in years and good to see that Channel 4 have faith in the show.

Though I wish they'd rerelease the 1st Series DVD, I only caught onto it mid-Series 3 and from buying the 2nd Series DVD. The series has got full potential, it is a hit with it's fans and the Critics but the ratings have hardly been great, I don't think Friday at 10.00pm works IMO.

First series on DVD - the only place I found it on the web was eBay.
