What's with "being axed"? Byker was officially axed in May this year. Its website on bbc.co.uk disappeared literally within three days of the news.
The episodes currently being transmitted are still new aren't they?

on CBBC Channel is the last ever series, but it isn't Byker Grove as we used to know it, it seems to have gone down the surreal route.
