Think you're missing an asterisk, there - Didn't Liza Tarbuck take over Blockbusters when it went to Sky..? (Pech!)
I can't for the life of me understand why people think Catchphrase was worse after Roy Walker left. I personally always thought he was awful, continuously using the old "it's good... but it's not the one" trick. His jokes were also dire. The guy who took over was brilliant and breathed new life into what was becoming a very tired show.
Yeah, and after about one show when Nick Weir took over - he fell down the stairs and broke his ankle! What's happened to him these days? local radio?
I personally liked Roy Walker - his accent gave Catchphrase its life really.
I'm afraid I agree with Moz's comments. I think Lamarr has made 'Buzzcocks' his own and over the years its made him change his character. When you see him on early Shooting Stars - he's a different person.
The new Bullseye will either bomb or do really well.
Going off on a bit of a tangent, but I remember reading before its launch that originally, Millionaire was going to be presented by Geri Halliwell. Seriously! Can't help but wonder if it'd still have been the success it has been had that happened.
That was rubbish.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (or Cash Mountain as the show was origninally pitched to ITV as) was always going to hosted by Chris Tarrant.
The rising prize element was used on a couple of his Capital FM Breakfast show competitions, and the shows creator was his producer at Capital. He re-worked the radio competition for TV use as he knew how Chris could ramp up the tension at the right time.
Any idea who, apart from Lauren Laverne, is presenting on this series? I don't know why but I think Zane Lowe would be excellent. Bob Mortimer too maybe.
EDIT:
The line up of guest presenters taking hold of the reigns and in charge of the banter includes Jonathan Ross, Jeremy Clarkson, Dale Winton, Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs, Huey Morgan of The Fun Lovin' Criminals, Simon Amstell and Lauren Laverne.

EDIT AGAIN:
Who is the guy on Phill Jupitus' team (and not Kenzie)? He is really funny, has made some fantastic quips in this show.
