Trailers for Mon-Fri programmes being made by LWT but branded 'ITV' but containing LWT's background graphics (red/silver whirlygigs) for showing on Granada North in the week;
No the Mon-Fri trailers were produced in Leeds with a Leeds based announcer, it had the transparent ITV logo on the left, and didn't finish with the swirly background, the weekend ones were produced by LWT and finished off with a swirly background.
I remember this strongly, as I hated the trailers that were being made in Leeds as they didn't use those swirly graphics.
There were also a fair few trailers produced by Granada with Colin Weston etc voicing them over that summer. Distinctive for being just like the Leeds trails but even more basic; the caption generator in use in Manchester having a lot of flicker and the overall look of these trails being distinctly grubby.
In the end I recall that a lot of the Central-branded ITV trailers ended up being used by GMG North as well, so that in one break in the North East we had a Central ITV trail (with small white ITV logo on-screen), followed by a TTTV trail with local logo and then a Granada-produced one with a badly-rendered grey-inverted semi-transparent ITV on the other side of the screen to where it normally was. At other times of the day there would be either LWT- or YTV- produced trails, none of which matched each other. What a mess -- it was like going back to the days of each station producing their own versions of the ITV-look trailers.
It was almost a relief when all trails started to come from London...
