I just saw this on the ITV News Network on ITVNC
"Granda News" initially I couldn't make my mind up which letter was actually missing. The advert break then cut-in whilst Chris Rogers was still speaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..................
It appears that noone seems to care anymore.

I say Corruthers - standards have been slipping over at ITV Towers for some time! Promos/Continuity/Presentation is all pretty bad.
You see - they don't want experience any more.
a) Its too expensive
b) You can boss the kids around much more and they won't answer back.
c) The Young 'uns don't pose a threat.
d) The whole place is run by DAMN Granada anyway - they might have produced some of the best shows for the network, but look at the damage they've done to it now!

Well as someone who grew up with Granada presentation in the 70s and 80s I can assure you that it was anything but boring. And I think you'll find that the presentation department at Granada was shut down in the late 1990s and most of its staff and announcers made redundant. YTV handled presentation in the north after that and it was they who were boring. The current set up is mainly ex-LWT and the dept is run I believe by a lady who was once an announcer at Grampian and, yes, Granada.
