Any reason why the Europa League matches are available on the BT Sport app but not on the red button BT Sport Extra channels tonight?

Demand, It seems that there's little interest in non UK group fixtures, putting them on the App covers the rights and provides a version if wanted. They are covering 6 matches, 3 early and 3 late across the channels.

But if they are on the app anyway, surely it doesn't involve much more effort to put them on the red button?

The app-only streams are provided directly by UEFA's digital partner - whereas anything on the red button has to come from satellite or fibre and into one of the red button playout chains (of which there are only 6). It would take a fair bit of resources to get all 24 matches into the building.

How does the Europa League rate in comparison to the Champions League for BT?

The English games rate very well - especially as Liverpool and Manchester United have been in it in recent years, and in the Champions League two English teams are usually playing at the same time, hence cannibalising the audience, whereas in the Europa League they can have viewers' undivided attention, so it's sometimes the highest rated thing on BT all week. It's also of particular interest in Scotland this season. So a nice contract to have, I think.

A Moan ....

For the third time an end of contract BT re-negotiation which when ordered was fine has resulted in services being dropped. Resolved faster this time, but heck what a repeated shambles.

This is why I don't like bundling - you aim to change one thing and it basically resets everything whether you want it or not.
Shouldn't that have been posted in the "John Logie Baird has Invented Television" thread?

Is that the first live sport she has done for them? Has her chat show now been axed?

She presented some women's international football earlier this month. I'm not sure if she's done any other live sport since the channel started.

Think she's also done the Americas Cup sailing?

Anyway, the longest ever game in the history of the World Series is currently on BT Sport 1, came on air at 1am and was due off at 5. If it stays around for another hour (which doesn't seem impossible, the way it's going..) it'll be the longest game in the history of baseball and will start to trouble the channel's live schedule.

She anchored the WTA Birmingham classic the year(s) BT had it before it went back to Eurosport. Sam Smith usually anchors the tennis coverage when they have an in vision presenter.
