I already have Now TV and BT TV. So hopefully I will be able to sign in on the YouView box.

Would this mean from the new deal that BT Sport UHD will be more likely to be available on SkyQ sport subscriptions in the UK?

The 4K channel is not part of the Sky and BT deal.

Why is this channel not part of this deal? Are BT & Sky doing up a separate deal for it?

Nope. It will remain exclusive to BT.

AMC isn't included as well - which is a shame as that channel has a pitifully small audience share.

AMC is available on Sky to BT Sport subscribers though, so presumably will have to be included?

Yep. But BT is keeping it exclusive to itself, and those on Sky who have subscribed directly through BT.

The losers in this deal might be Virgin. They've marketed themselves as the only place to get 'all the football' - i.e. Sky Sports and BT Sport with one subscription. Now, baring a new deal with Sky, they'll be the only ones - out of BT and Sky - without Sky Atlantic.

A prospect I am sure is not lost on Virgin, but fairly made all the same. Mind, it's the Sky Cinema OnDemand offering on Virgin that is probably the most annoying bugbear at the moment. I've only subscribed to Sky Premiums since a couple of years, but I've only ever known the most recent premieres to be in HD & SD On Demand, after a couple of months of being available - films join the library of SD-only. Apparently everything used to be in HD & SD, and still is on Sky. Currently there also seems to be an issue with Sky Arts & Sports OnDemand, and nothing is available in HD since a month or so.

Not the biggest problem in the world since I'd imagine it's more popular to record films for later watching anyway - but one of those things I really wish they'd sort.

I understand that more details, including the nitty-gritty, relating to this deal should be released in the 2Q of 2018.

Q2 2018 hmmm. That's just after the results for the next UK/IRE Premier League football live rights have been announced.

So not going to be 'new best friends' just yet!

Does that support the theory that they might be waiting for the BT/Eir deal to end? Or pure coincidence?

Lots of answers today. HD and not enhanced SD which it is currently, coming to NowTV later in 2018, Hence the delay to the BT Deal.
