according to DS the brookside houses are now ready for tennents, about time too, taken nearly 8 years to get them done up.

bit dubious of some of the questions interested parties are "asking" which one is trever burried under and which on was Jimmy Corkhill's

it's the same house, if they watched the show they'd already know that Rolling Eyes

Judging by the state of disrepair Mersey TV allowed the properties to fall into before the original sale to a developer, then I would be surprised of they were even recognisable now.

The entire roadwork/pavements would've needed to be replaced, along with the interiors of the 'houses', many of which were production suites which may have inluded no internal walls at all, aside from supporting beams.

It would be interesting to know whether anyone has even manage to turn a profit on the deal.

I tried to persuade my sister to buy it, as an investment, as she was looking for properties to renovate.

They just need a bit of turf now

How on earth did that happen? I understand the overgrown bushes and things but how did the pavements get in such a state?

I imagine, if that's where it was made & everything, that there were cables and such running under the pavements which had to be ripped out when it finished.

Whats with the, "well its about time" attitude?

Its not like there aren't hundreds of other derelict properties in Liverpool. These would have required more work than most to bring up to a standard where they could be inhabited, and whoever owns them would need to realise some kind of return on their investment.

Its just bricks and mortar. Its not like they have a spirit being damanged because families weren't in them.

Yeesh.

That is very likely to have been the case.

A similar example was with the Big Breakfast House. Within only a couple of weeks after the last ever show, all the
production equipment was quite literally ripped out, leaving cables and light fittings literally dangling from walls
and ceilings. There were a few pictures of the aftermath of this posted online somewhere, taken a month or so
after the final show, and about 6 months before a bunch of local yobs broke in and set the house on fire.

It's just as well there's been a security barrier at the entrance of Brookside Close since production ended in 2003,
otherwise those houses could've eventually the faced the same fiery fate as the former Big Breakfast House did.

ok I guess 'about time to' was a bit arogant of me, guess as they are famous properties, like the big breakfast house, they get more attention

the trenches in the pavements are where the cabling for each character house went round to the edit block, Phil Redmonds didn't want cables running across the street so the cameras could be just plugged into the nearest house

just thinking of the location are there any shops round there

Judging by this image on Google Maps, there doesn't seem to be any shops in the immediate vicinity. Looks like
new residents of Brookside Close are very likely to need motorised transportation to get to the nearest shops.

Unless of course, there's someone on here that lives nearby, who can confirm or deny this.
