My mate Claire's brother lives in the original "Emmerdale" farmhouse, used before they built the mock village.

Just out of interest Gav, where is that? I only ask because I thought it was Arncliffe, but someone disagreed with me and said somewhere else. I'm not about to start stalking your mate's brother or anything! Wink

The village used for Emmerdale was indeed Arncliffe, but the actual farm used was Lindley Farm near Otley, not too far away from the 2nd and 3rd locations of the village.

The second Emmerdale Farm was at Bank Side Farm which near Harewood, and the most recent one used is Burden Head Farm, which actually is the entrance to the Emmerdale access road for the crew.

Cheers Dan! Very interesting! I believe they second village used was Esholt from 1976-1996, then the custom-built village on the Harewood Estate was used.

That would be correct village wise - but Esholt was used from 1977 and the Harewood village started being used in 1997 (though not seen on screen until 1998) Wink

i heard that the brookside parade set was rebuilt back to it's original facade and is now one of the grange hill playgrounds

the brookside houses are in west derby and the parade was in childwall which are 5 miles apart

not sure about the big breakfast house though, i guess it's only had a compulsory purchase order since london won the games
