just out of interest the brookside houses are now sold and it made me think of which house i'd buy if i could afford one.
i would buy number 4 (the canteen) because anybody connected with brookside in it's entire history would have been in that one house over all the others
if you fancied living in a piece of tv history which house would you buy
Living were broadcasting old Brooksides for years, then Sky One bought the rights, pissed about with it and then dropped it very quikcly, which is a shame. The pre-2000 episodes were very good.
the three terrace houses on brookside (1-3) would have to be completly rebuilt inside as they were the knocked together to make the edit suits, wardrobe, makeup depts, etc
i wonder if they really did knock a hole between 9 and 10 when the did the siege scenes
Sorry to change the subject but does anyone happen to know when the Brookside dvd Settling Up with Barry Grant is going to be released?
The trailer for it is on the Unfinished Business dvd from 2003 but I haven't heard anything since.
no idea, i thought the last dvd was unfinished business when steve and tim found the guy responsible for the seige and killed him.
talking of brookside killings, i know it's a few years ago but in the last episode when michaelson was strung up and hung out of the window his car changes position between the night scene when he is actually murdered (it's facing the house) and the following morning (it's facing the close)
actually it think a better ending would have been jimmy leaving the gas on in each house and having all six of them blow up simultainiosuly
My mate Claire's brother lives in the original "Emmerdale" farmhouse, used before they built the mock village.
Just out of interest Gav, where is that? I only ask because I thought it was Arncliffe, but someone disagreed with me and said somewhere else. I'm not about to start stalking your mate's brother or anything!
Going off topic, but The Big Breakfast house is located right in the shadow of the proposed London Olympic Stadium and is thought to be part of the Compulsory Purchase Order for the games.
It's possible, though not certain it may be knocked down as a result.
Back on topic and do Mersey TV still use the Brookside Parade (I think the Hollyoaks SU Bar is there and some outdoor Grange Hill stuff filmed around there) - and is it actually located next to the close as it appeared or not?

Truth be told, I haven't been in touch with her since she got pregnant and moved to France. I'm well aware that sounds like a convenient plot device from Murder She Wrote, but its true I assure you.
EDIT: Woops. In answer to your question I have no idea.

no it's near hope uni the parde, which I hear is home to Mersey TV and the parade is not part of the grange hill set.
Brookside Close has been sold, but to a development company. What happens now is up to them. Some pictures were posted on Digital Spy, by 'Pansiks', a few weeks ago and show the close is in quite a poor condition now...
