Well, the final scenes have been filmed and according to Digital Spy they feature Dean Sullivan, Phillip Oliver and Suzanne Collins (Jimmy, Tim and Nicky). They will be broadcast on November 4th.

So how will it end. Well, they've been setting up a possible ending for a few weeks with houses being sold to allow the development of an incinerator. One rumour is the end involves Jimmy Corkhill amongst the rubble.

How do you think it might - or should - end?
And which characters should make a move to Hollyoaks?

Finally, although I agree with C4's decision to axe Brookside (a couple of years too late - it was never going to reach it's peak again), over the last few weeks the show has improved considerable with strong episodes handling one or two stories. And IMO, it's much better in it's late night slot than at 4pm on a Saturday.

Hardly an all-star turnout for the finale, is it? I'd have thought one or two old faces may have turned up to send it off with a bang. But it looks set to slip away without any publicity, rather like Eldorado did.

I suspect I'm not the only one who hasn't watched it since its peak (in around 92-95?) after which it seemed to descend into blandness. Quite simply I reckon they ran out of sensational storylines. A shame because it was once the most gripping soap I've ever watched. Does anyone remember the storyline when Terry's wife and kid were pushed off the roof and there were three suspects - superb television.

I also wonder which old faces return to the Close? Maybe our Shelia is coming back! Wink

It is a shame that Brookside is going. But I think it began to lose a lot of its creditibility over the last couple of years.

I used to love Hollyoaks but after most of the original cast began to die, get killed etc etc, it got rather daft.

Media Guardian reports that Phil Redmond is getting revenge on C4 with a new charactor called Jack Michaelson (based on ex C4 chief Michael Jackson) - he'll be the most hated character to have ever featured on the show and will get a painful death in the final episode.

They can end the show by broadcasting the last episode without the dire filmic effect.

How will it end ?

How about the whole series being a dream and the residents waking up and finding that Brookside Close is actually a supermarket.............

Oh hang on a minute ............. Laughing

Lets have a nuclear bomb landing on Brookside Close. About as good quality ending as the soap itself.

How did the original Crossroads end - and what about Eldorado?
The Original Crossroads ended with the hotel been sold to a former owner's son and Jill leaving Adam to go and set up a little hotel in the West with pub Landlord John Maddingham.Eldorado ended with Marcus Tandy faking his own death and sailing off on a boat, and the Lockheads choosing to stay in Spain, from what I recall of the final episode.

I heard that in the final episode Bev and Ron finally get married and Rachel has her baby.

I agree Brookside has gone downhill in recent years but lets hope it gets a better send off than Crossroads got.

I hope the last episode is a proper one compared with the mini stand alone dramas that they've been since it went once a week.

Knowing Brookside, it'll be Jimmy and co leaving the close after failing to stop the demolition. Then they'll be loads of fancy flashbacks no doubt with music, and that'll be it.

It's poor that the 100 greatest moments is exclusive to DVD, as Channel 4 have washed their hands with the show and have refused to show an extra programmes

It's just a shame it's going to end when the quality of it starts getting better again, but though I'd say it's not a soap, it's just a drama now. But as long as we have Jimmy Corkhill getting the last word, then I think the show should end on a high, as I have been watching some of it recently and the bond between the three mentioned has worked quite well, one of the best eps I have seen this year is either Nikki's Graduation or the clearance of the old woman's house, these have been rather superb and you seem to forget that this is Brookside. Though I hope they don't put it on too late, as it came on at 12.10am on Tuesday Night, which frankly is taking the piss now, 11.05pm is fine IMO, and it seems now that they have taken advantage of being on so late, as Tuesday's contained alot of sex apparenlty, but it was on until 1.30am, and by that time I was well asleep.
