I find it hard to believe that a minority channel hasn't bought the rights to show Brookie from the beginning, it was dire towards the end and a shame that Phil Redmond or Channel Four stuck with it, however considering some of the rubbish that gets repeated why not Brookside?

Sky One had the rights last - though it was quickly moved from it's initial daytime slot to sometime in the middle of the night.

I read somewhere that the houses were being sold off - does anyone know if that has happened yet, and if the famous end of the close is open to the public now?

They were sold off a couple of years ago - and I guess if they are private houses you can probably walk down the road like any other road in the country.

For a while a couple of the houses were used on Hollyoaks, but not for long. The Brookie parade remains though and is used for the SU set on Hollyoaks and for Grange Hill.
