oh yes and the spinning business news graphics - and then the actual screen spins round. fab.

That was HILARIOUS. 4 tickers with 2 of them going from left to right at 1,000,000 mph! And the spinning pictures etc. Brilliant! I nearly wet myself.

The whole "but first, coming up, and after that...another reminder of everything we've just said" joke about ITV news was great. It makes you realise just how repetitive news channels really are!

On another side, I actually really liked the IBS news graphics with the semi-transparent globe spinning on the left-hand side of the screen. I know t'was very amreican but still very nice.

I watched this and will continue to do so, as I like anything wihich mocks the absurdity of modern tv news.

I found it fairly amusing although predictably, some of it was a little too bizarre to be genuinely amusing.
I know, it's the usual fine line between making it 'accessible and amusing' to the public without making it too subtle...

My favourite part was certainly the portrayal of what seemed to be the itv news channel (where they had the Standing News)
I didn't particularly think the standing news was credible, but I mention this to clarify which 'channel' I am referring to here.
I found the portrayal by the two desk presenters in that 'channel' very amusing. Especially the female presenter who made me laugh out loud, although the name of that fairly well known actress escapes me.

"water wings may float" was on one of them. Watching it again on the iMP you notice the funniest bits are in the detail rather than the things they are saying.

The spoof of the six o'clock two presenter reading technique was fantastic as it was done when the titles were on so you thought it had just channel hopped again.

How many real news/weather presenters were in the show? Sian Jones was the only one I spotted.
HC
Hatton Cross
There were two (plus one) others I spotted
Arrow Ashley Blake -current Midlands Today
Arrow Rob Butler - ex Five News
Arrow Jon Briggs ex BBC Radio Five (Newsreader on 'the old' BBC Radio Five, now voice of The Weakest Link)

I thought this programme was brilliant.

Disagree about the "lack of jokes" comments. To me it was all about the delivery style of the various programmes they spoofed, and it was tremendously well observed.

The weather forecasters were hysterical, ("more weather coming in from the East"), although I'm surprised to hear they are real forecasters!

Thank goodness for Telewest Teleport. I'm going to watch the show again right now.

I felt tonight's episode was much stronger - highlights for me being the reporter dispatched to Lincolnshire, and the dead-pan weather presenter who warns us of weather that may upset "pets and some religious people".
I still think IBS is fairly weak in execution, despite having a lot of potential for OTT American presentation.
Good stuff though Smile

It's like The Office... but with news presentation. And bloody funny.

Does anyone think any of the spoofs are based specifically on any currently available news programmes?
I feel the Richard Pritchard and Katie Tate pairing are in the ITV news vein.

And of course 15 Seconds = BBC 3's 60 Seconds.

I ask because I can see some others but not a spoof of Sky News, which surprises me and makes me wonder if I'm missing it.
