This looks excellent. It's just a shame that it's only on for such a short run (6 eps), although hopefully this will be extended as i'd imagine they'll want to write the episodes pretty close to airdate so that they get topical satire (indeed one episode is already about Turkey flu!)

It's about time we had another Day Today / Brasseye type series - it's just to be hoped that this show stays on the dafter side of satire and doesn't self-destruct itself on dirty satire like all of Chris Norris' satire shows have.

However, my only thing is that they should perhaps change the format of it - I'm not too sure about the multiple channels - it seems a bit of a kop out - a case of 'we can't think of enough news from one angle...' and so flip-over and we can do something totally different. It'd also be good to have something like this every day for the first week of the month, then special documentary-esque versions on Monday nights every other week.

Not saying i'm not looking forward to it though, should be ace!

I'm glad to see BBC2 have decided Monday is comedy night again, what with the new series of Never Mind The Buzzcocks at 9pm, Broken News at 9.30pm and the repeat of Have I Got News for You at 10pm.

Not that keen on the channel flipping, they dont seem to do full spoof reports like on The Day Today.

Good to see Rob Butler (ex-Five News) has found work.

It's not Laugh out Loud funny, but I'm enjoying it so far, a very good satire on News channels, and Look Out East? Looks familiar. Confused

How close to broadcast is this made? Because the Tomato Flu thing seems incredibly familair......

Some of the ticker comments are funny... I think the concept is good - we can see what they are parodying but the material once you get past the "impersonation" of BBC London, N24, ITV Weather, 60 Seconds just isn't that funny.

No obvious Sky News spoofs there, I was expecting huge newswall spoofs and red and blue, sound effects for breaking news.

Bloomberg
Movie News
BBC
Regional
ITV (love the huge legs)
American (fox?)
and misc news sources

It's the same technique used on 'The Sunday Format' on Radio 4. Thought it worked really weel, if only for the 'We all know Mariah Carey drinks elephants.....' joke. Loved the Bloomberg spoof 'Aronovitch' too

As well as Rob Glass and the bloke from Midlands Today, Summit Bose of BBC London also made an appearance

well it had it's moments.

Like martin said, it lacked full news reports and also the channel hopping led to too much repetition.

The traffic report was a bit dry as was the american news channel. I suppose if every episodes uses different "networks" it might work but as a series it might be too repetative.

Fabulousness for us though there was a plenty. The assault course for "ITV's" standee-up bit was great as was the marvellously accurate speculation spoof. I loved the emails "only men will die - hahaha"

I didn't however like the film review bit as I found it childish - until the return to the man outside where he totally contradicted everything he just said in the intrview was so like Talking Movies it hurt.

Mind you all the good bits were on Breakfast this morning. The massivly complex coming up and recap sequence being my favourite.

Where was Rob Butler? I missed him?
