So is it just Newsnight and the 6 that are in TC7 now?

Surely they'll want to move these out ASAP as it's not cost effective leasing a big studio like that for just over an hour a day airtime.

But there's no real alternative until World moves out. The 6 still needs rehearsal time.

Don't forget Hardtalk, Newswatch, Andrew Marr and The Sunday Politics are also there.

Interesting new pics. News channel set looks great. It seems like World's set (C) will be a bit smaller version of News Channel set with a fake newsroom background. Could they use a live shot of the big newsroom? Hope so.

I don't really like set B. Will presenters stand there all the time? Can't imagine Newsnight with standing presentation. Also I doubt all World special programs (GMT/Impact etc) will air from there. World's evening schedule will probably come from set C , including WNT since Newsnight has to rehears.

I think Studio B is intended to be more flexible, an equivalent to TC7 if you will, with different Desks/chairs being moved in and out depending on the programme. Whilst studios C & E look to be interchangable, ie bulletins from both channels could come frome either set.

I would like to see World News Today coming from E.

I always thought that the idea of the 2008 revamp was to have less studios in operation to save money as well as freshening up the brand. It seems to me with the move to BH there will be more studios than ever being used for presentation. When you think BBC News currently occupy N6, N8 and TC7 studio-wise ( N9 mothballed and occasionally used for maintenance etc). If this is the case, why can't the Nationals come from their own set and not share with the news channel.

Also, when the full BBC news operation is operating from BH with new graphics - will BBC Parliament also get a refresh?

Remember that one of the studios is virtual - something that I don't think the BBC currently have (on this scale) and therefore they rent space from ITN during elections. It has also been said that the galleries for each studio can be run on flexible staffing levels. Something they are unable to do at present.

I have however lost count of what studios are required. 1 for domestic, 1 for world, 1 for virtual plus one for programmes (aka existing TC7 stuff). Anyone recall what the fifth studio is likely to be home to? I also realise that these are only bases and that programmes and channels may come from different studios.

BBC London & BBC World Service also have studio spaces in the building, but we don't know if they're included in the much heralded five studios, or if BBC London are actually going to stay in their current temporary studio after all.

@Worzel: Presumably the new studios will be cheaper to use and operate than the current TVC ones, and there won't be an increase in the number of studios used at any one time , I don't believe, which could mean there isn't an increase in staffing levels. Part of the 2008 change was about how bulletins are put together, not just what studios are used.

Also, am I right in thinking all the galleries are right next to each other, or have I dreamt that?

I have just read over the last 20 or so pages, to try to get my head around these changes, and studio arrangements.

Studio B will also be the home of Hardtalk as well, I believe.

I believe HardTalk is a BBC World production.

As nice as the proposed layout is I hope we don't just see the same set replicated two to three times in different spaces.
