From that link - very unprofessional to publish a gmail as a contact.
In other circumstances I'd agree. However given that Burma presumably have lots of blocking tactics to avoid direct e-mails to bbc.co.uk getting through - an alternative makes sense.

It's not fingerprints inside that are the problem, it's the pigeons outside. Seeing the pest control guy walk into reception with a hawk on his arm last week did make my day though.

Remember we are leaving behind a building billed as 'The most luxurious office building in the world' when constructed. If you've not seen it already, here's the HD version of Leaving Bush House that was published during the World Service 80th celebrations at the end of last month.
More interesting stuff off of Flickr (it really is worth doing a search for Broadcasting House every week!)...

quite. from experience, for whatever reason gmail seemed to fair a lot better than other email services. although as a local you'd need to be brave or sneaky to contact the bbc even in the brave new world of burmese 'democracy'.

I take it that the 'soon to be' news channel studio is to the left of this picture (where the studio lighting seems to be)?.

And it seems pretty sure that it'll look like this...
Never saw it before, but you can definitely see the shape of the glass box that is Studio E in the background, and the view onto the newsroom.
Not sure I like it, seems like a lot of the view will be blocked with bits of set.
Also, what are the screens to the sides of the main desk - a return to the cool, but washed out, rear projection efforts when News 24 was in N8?

Why not? Wasn't everyone complaining that the background of BBC Sport's Salford set was too transparent and showed too much of the newsroom?
I don't know why you'd view 'hiding' the newsroom as a negative, I see no benefit in making it seem like they're broadcasting from a fishbowl in the middle of it. Minimising visual distraction (the treatment they've applied to the window) and assisting news delivery with technology (the video screens covering the shorter side windows) are necessities.
Hopefully the newsroom won't be so hidden, surely they won't put that red stuff on glass.

Yes but this newsroom is huge and would give a nice view. Salford sport newsroom not so and it has many screens that are too close to the set which is why some people here complained it's a distraction. To me it's not anyway.
For me a nice newsroom is always the best background for a news program and especially 24 hour news channel.
