Hopefully they'll use this studio for items like 'Meet the Author' when they don't have access to another studio, rather than the current setup sometimes used in the newsroom.

Or not...

it would seem that the new studio is to replace the one in Bush House, picture below...

I was going based on what Moz was quoting:
Moz posted:
TV studio on the 5th floor - any services can use this for web videos or broadcasts . Also to be used as an emergency studio for Arabic or Persian TV

And obviously I don't mean to put programmes like Meet the Author in there all the time - I meant this would be a great alternative, if available, to interviewing guests inside the newsroom. At present, they use an odd-looking sofa setup - akin to the tall one on the middle floor in this picture:

- to interview guests, including at points on Meet The Author. And it looks terrible. It's clear they're trying to angle the camera so you can't tell they're in the middle of a busy newsroom, but the shots are uncomfortable, the newsroom is really loud at points and the lighting's non existent.

^^ Good discovery. So it's not World nor BBC London.

It's a shame the recent batch of pictures do not show the studio located on the newsroom level, despite there being several photos of the newsroom itself. Seeing the desks assembled and the feature lighting on makes it look even more impressive than in previous pictures, it will certainly look fantastic on screen.

You're not likely to get that many pictures from the main newsroom floor as it's still being built. The pictures from the World Service areas are because they will be in real use very soon so are a lot further down the "building" line. But having been on the main newsroom floor it will be impressive when everything is in.

Gives you a good idea of what it looks like inside the building. 24 seconds in is the main newsroom. 46 seconds in is the big news studio!

I completely agree with the above. The video from the BBC's Burmese service prior to their Sunday move shows NBH in it's full glory with furniture and people in it. Touches like the images of Dads Army on the windows are really nice and it looks completely fabulous.

There is also a related blog post on the About the BBC Blog, which details more about the building and move.

Really looking forward to seeing more of this

Well at least the music from Take That does make it interesting.

According to that blog, "all of the Vision Factual teams based in London, such as The One Show and Watchdog" are moving to BH. Does that mean The One Show is moving to a studio at BH or just the production team?
