I hear that, all going well, Sports News will be live from Salford on March 5th.

Great news. I was going to ask when they will start just before reading your post.

Presumably, Newsday, as it is produced by BBC World News would come from their studios at Broadcasting House.

Any word on what will happen to the midnight Sat/Sun bulletin (Sun/Mon morning) on the NC. Done by the overnight presenter currently, but only goes out on the NC. Will the evening NC presenter have to stay on and do it?

A half hour of World News? The two shifts aren't that different under normal circumstances, in terms of lineup and reports.

I don't really see it's any more or less likely to be vandalised than any other public garden.
The fact it is in a public area now would presumably make it less of a temptation than one
which is very famous and secure behind a very high wall. It's also more visible.

It's also right next to the Metrolink stop which has it's own CCTV cameras. Not sure if any of the cameras have a view
of the garden though. It is, as you say, in a public area. Any attempts at vandalism are unlikely in broad daylight on
a wide open space with full public access. Could be some attempts late at night though.

The BBC could always install a small camera close by which could be used for CCTV and as an official webcam.

The other thing is that there always seems to be a fair amount of security presence at any time around MediaCity, and I imagine the garden will be part of that focus. MediaCity's owners aren't going to allow anything to sully the image of the area they've sunk a lot of money into is, is my guess.

The new BBC World studios looks fantastic. Very nice and big. I believe news 24 will be similar. I take it that re-branding for BBC News then?

Absolutely gorgeous! I gasped when I saw each of the photos. Just beautiful and a really clever evolution of the current look. Looks massive as well!

Further excitement to see it on screen soon-ish!

BBC Global News?

BBC Global News is apparently a department within the BBC:

(Carrying on from a post I made earlier in the BBC World News thread)

Can anyone confirm (with knowledge, rather than just guess from the pics), that this photo from twitter is not how this artist's impression has actually turned out, please?

Clearly the above studio isn't final, but if that were to be one of the studios World News use it would surely be a let down compared to the artists impressions we've seen?
