I bet you the one show will come from there when it opens but not next year cos of it being 2012 and the fact there studio is on the 1st ever london games site

Looks like there's only one newsroom studio from this angle. The studio does look quite big in this photo though, certainly larger than in photos I've previously seen.
You know what would be nice? Get a motion control rig in there while its totally empty, and take lots of sweeping shots, which can blend into the fully equipped and staffed space. I'm sure there will be a documentary about the place that could make use of that.
The News Room may take up most of the basement and ground floor of the main wing, but it is a surprisingly bright space
.
I'm under the impression the studios are in the basement, but does the News Room cover part of the basement too? Does that mean theoretically there are other possibilities for news room studios? I don't quite understand...

The main newsroom floor appears to be on floor -1, with the balcony around it on the ground floor. From the photo above, you can just make out what looks like the main entrance on other photos above the studio, and it looks like the public café area is on the far side.
Are the other studios below this space, or are they located off to one side? How far down does the building go?!

Although I'm not really a fan of 'real newsroom backgrounds', perhaps it would've been possible for the BBC to provide two studios with this outlook.
If they were placed either next to each other, or at a 90 degree angle, then the view from one wouldn't reveal the other.
With having a studio, will these mean more Barcos, I.e. a copy of N6/TC7 in Broadcasting House?
Whilst it would make sense for the Broadcasting House equivalent of TC7 to have Barcos, I struggle to see how the News Channel's studio would benefit.
We should remember N6's current set was built to house the nationals, Breakfast and other News 24/World pre-recorded programmes (such as Newswatch). Hence, Barcos allowed a quick, cheap change of set. Now, N6 is used by the News Channel which doesn't require any quick changes of set at all (but of course when moving in there in 2008 and complete overhaul of the set would have been deemed a waste of money).
My point is there's no reason why a more complex, interesting set with 'real bits' can be built in Broadcasting House to house the News Channel because there is no need for quick turn-arounds like there is in TC7.
I think the question is, without using a live newsroom backdrop or BARCO screens that emulated this, how would they construct the set? As we've all seen, a boring, fairly static newsroom display can work perfectly for the Nationals but gets very stale when broadcast 16-hours a day. Surely a studio with a lightbox display of a newsroom, for example, would be worse than the BARCOS with less functionality? It's hard to see how a simpler set would work for such a used studio.
Unless we get a live newsroom backdrop, I think many will be disappointed by whatever the News Channel ends up with (though Worzel more than others). Can anyone think of anything else they can do for a background/ overall set?
... Maybe like CNN, use a mini newswall, lot of plasma screens, some different color walls behind etc.
CNN London set has London trademark buildings drawn on the walls.
I was thinking, if NC has a newsroom facing studio, that they have two large plasma affairs on both sides, no Barcos or anything fancy. This way they can do standing presentation and seated and if they made the plasma either display the Title endboard or the same colour of the walls they'd be housed it, it'd look fairly nice.
