Just stumbled across some pictures on flickr of the TV studios and newsroom at BH:

These photos confirm there are at least four new studios in the new wing, so where the headline figure of "5 television studios [in BH]" comes from remains to be seen - but it can't be including those currently used for Arabic / Persian. If it's just the new bit, then what is the fifth studio?

My bets on the allocations are:
Tiny studio - BBC London
Small studio - BBC News Channel
Big studio - Newsnight
Newsroom studio - BBC World

btw are there plans for arabic and persian to move too or will they be staying upstairs in egton?

.. also on the newsroom photo it says

The BBC news teams will be in this space - you'll see them in shot behind the newscasters in BBC News Worldwide.

So BBC World will get the newsroom set I guess...

But, on a later photograph, it says

Quote:
News 24 will be broadcast from here, with the large journalists' area in the background.

suggesting that the picture is of the newsroom studio but just facing the other way.

It would be a shame for BBC World News to get the newsroom studio. Domestic in my opinion should be the priority and to me, if they get stuck in a generic studio without any view of the news centre, they may as well just stay in N6...

To me it looks like there are studios either side of the newsroom both with a view of the newsroom. So perhaps News Channel will get one and World News will get the other?

Will this be big enough for the Election programme...?

Look's to me like the far side of the studio (with the big glass windows and no pillars) are either radio studios or edit suites - there's too many doors and columns to look good. Besides, having two television studios facing each other with a few desks in between would just look odd on screen.

That was the original plan I believe, to have all the studios looking out in the newsroom facing each other. Then they decided to stick the majority of them in the basement.

That sounds like a great idea, to have 2 sets with the newsroom, they certainly could do it with such a big space. Also I don't think it would be strange to see the back of one set in the background. It would be too far away and besides rest of the newsroom is filled with desks and people sitting so it's nothing that would stand out.

Could you please make an effort to be even marginally comprehensible? At the moment you're just cluttering up the place with indecipherable nonsense.

I really don't think it's too much to ask.

Is the One Show supposed to be moving? I thought it was just BBC News?

It is just BBC News.

Worth pointing out to TellyboxPLUS that it is JUST BBC News moving to BH and White City will remain as is.
