- Radio 1 & 1 Xtra moving back to Broadcasting House 2013
- Live performance area on ground floor of Egton wing for Radio 1
- News moving gradually during 2012 "as the building comes to life"
- "First, miles of cables under the floors, up and down the building will be installed. Then the fit-out of the
TV studios for the News Channel, BBC World, Newsnight and the News bulletins
will begin."
So are the 'news bulletins' staying with the news channel, or siding with Newsnight's studio?
On the homepage, it says that there are 5 studios in the building, but if we count Arabic and Persian, that leaves 3 studios left. One for World, News Channel, and presumably the same set up with the remaining one as TC7?! I'm guessing!!
Also, with BBC Sport moving to Salford, does that include the sports presenters on the national, News Channel and World News, who are all moving?
Of course, the studios are all HD, but will we see the News Channel launch in HD immediately when they move?

What about BBC London?
Quote:
In the longer term, Radio1/1Xtra will benefit from the development of the ground floor performance area that will give the stations a physical presence as well as a virtual one. This ground floor area of the East Wing will revert to a publicly accessible area following the
removal of BBC London’s temporary TV studio
.
I can't help but feel that plans to make North West Tonight and Breakfast share not only a studio but also Technical Teams and video servers might point the way to what might happen to BBC London...
I could only find the "5 TV studios" claim on the front page of the site, which doesn't offer any explanation of what/where they are, so I think it can mean one of two things:
1) The real TV studios, not those which are in the newsrooms
2) The studios in the new section of Broadcasting House (News Channel, World, Nationals/Newsnight, London & short bulletins - current CSO studio).

It would be sensible and would potentially allow networked news bulletins to more easily not shown on the news channel - perhaps at weekends and Bank Holidays.
