Are they going to 'do' a Sky News and a proper BARCO videowall at the back of the office - or not bother as it seems there isn't going to be much room for Barco's in that small studio area.

You do know that more companies than Barco make projection cubes?

The Christie Microtiles in particular are very nice - 720x540 output per cube, and only about 25 cm deep. Unlimited tiling too.

I don't want a video wall. That massive plasma the One Show have looked very nice when they were doing weather in front of it the other week.

How about this 152" inch plasma screen from Panasonic?! It's out in January.

Yep - the weather looked great in it didn't it?

I wondered whether putting plasmas in front of the current Barco walls might be a nice idea after seeing it. (Would make the space a bit more interesting as well?)

Plasmas are now of a size that you could do a wall of plasma if you wanted to. You'd need some architectural detail to mask the joins - like pillars - but that would probably make the set more interesting? (I like the pillars on the Andrew Marr Show set)

Quite similar then to the standby national/ election set in N9, if you imagine BARCO screens instead of lightboxes, which works quite well for what it does. In fact the newsroom looks a lot more colourful on that set than in N6, but that's another story...

They use a similar plasma on the Politics Show, in the corner of TC7 for interviews. Agreed about the pillars, much like the red panels on some of the regional sets in a similar style such as Hull's, they make it more interesting.

Hasn't the plasma also been used increasingly by Newsnight?

The Andrew Marr Show (and Sunday AM before it) also use a plasma rather than the Barco walls.

The Andrew Marr Show uses a normal sized plasma arranged on top of one of the book shelves though, and always has done.

Since Autumn, the slightly re-vamped Politics Show has been wheeling out that 'mahoosive' plasma screen though, which sits quite nicely against the right hand edge of the baking tray during DTL interviews. It appears to make for a more inclusive dialogue between the interviewee, Jon Sopel and the 2 guests.

Found these photos online, don't think they've been posted before. It's looking amazing, especially at night.
I've put them in spoiler tags to reduce page length.
