Sort of connected to this thread by means of 7 jobs LEAVING Salford - Shifting back to the empty space in The Shoebox.

...and the wheels on the bus go round and round Smile

When you say they're going back... were these jobs that started off in Birmingham?

Another milestone for TV Centre - the final shift in CCA finished on Friday morning.

It's the last department to move out of TVC - though it's not quite switched off yet: some circuits still pass through there, and will until well into next year.

There's also a bit about it on Ariel: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ariel/25184824

Is it a coincidence or is the move of CCA/SatOps the reason why a couple of contributions from the US recently have had massive amounts of delay on the line? I'm thinking of the Doctor Who/1Direction thing, and now Mishal Hussain's interview with Tony Blair in Columbia which has a gap of around 4 seconds between a question being asked and the answer.

I love this bit at the bottom:

Notes for Editors
The new measures will create 81.5 jobs in Birmingham, including 69 jobs moving from London and seven jobs moving from Salford.

What exactly is 0.5 of a job?

A part time role?

Coincidence at least for the first one. I know the Dr Who one was done locally by the facilities company.

It's worth remembering that other methods like fibre or internet have the potential for delay, although how the feed is planned and routed is the biggest factor

1DDay also had delay problems when hooking up to the Xtra Factor that same evening. The whole event was a car crash by all accounts.

Does anyone know where Weekly Wipe is being filmed this series as presumably the production team weren't given access to TC10.

Play guess the studio if you'd like - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOqG41gfrzQ&feature=youtu.be

I have no idea if that's even a plausible game to play though. Razz

It's not TC10 - the back walls are different.

Some studios are quite easy to spot - TVC's studio walls have fairly old-school sound deadening, and control panels for the lighting pantographs. TLS Studio 1 has its big audience rostrum, and Riverside has brick walls (and quite a big raked seating area).

As for this one? It's not one I recognise, but surely the cables on the walls are a bit of a giveaway. Does that mean it's a reasonably small facility if they don't have room to store them elsewhere?
