Blue Peter is iconic, but not that particular set. It's one of the most generic TV sets I've seen.

If anyone's interested on who bought the Blue Peter set...

The irony is that in the days when it was iconic there wasn't much of a "set" to speak of, just lots of set elements that would be arranged as appropriate in a large studio. The switch to that set in 2007 marked the move away from that to a much smaller studio (which of course has since gone even smaller).
That said good to see it was snapped up by a university, I did think that would have been a good use for it.

Nice little booking that for ITV Studios. 5 nights a week for 12 weeks. ITT uses a very tight set - so are we looking at run long struck set up in Studio 7?
But the thing with It Takes Two is that whilst it appears live, I've clocked that sections of the show are probably pre-recorded in the early afternoon to fit in with the celebs 'normal' work and evening dance rehearsals to fit around that. Is in that respect, probably no change.
Quick top and tail of the interview, and leave the rest of crew hooting, rambling questions, and giggles in to give the appearance of it live.
So doing the show down at TLS actually makes sense in one respect, as it's closer for the London based dancers to get to - rather than having to go through the centre of town and out to Borehamwood.
Found out today that Strictly It Takes Two will be coming from TLS rather than Elstree which is interesting. That will surely mean less contestants and judges in studio towards the end of the week when rehearsals ramp up. Presumably there'll be a lot of live links to Elstree.

Proabably because they have another series of The Agenda in residence during the run of It Takes Two.
Suspect both would need the larger studio - and having a glitterball above Tom Bradburys head whilst discussing the latest planned and thwarted terrorist attack, would look plain silly.
And history lesson here, but the very first Strictly spin-off show, which was shown on BBC Three and hosted by (whisper) Justin Lee Collins, came from the Silver Road studios, just off Ariel Way, just off Wood Lane, just by a mulit studio complex where the BBC used to make a lot of it's television programmes...
Wonder why they didn't go back to the hospital studios where it was originally before it moved to TVC?

Bit of a shame they couldn't have done this years earlier and combined it with the new drama village into one large and central Wales hub.

Think in the last run or two (at least) ITT has only been live three days a week, with the other episodes pre-recorded.

Yes - and is Watchdog also back on-air during Strictly? (Watchdog has moved to The Hospital from TVC)

I thought "Strictly Come Dancing on Three" (as I think it was called during that first series?) was just JLC goofing around the main set after the show had finished on the Saturday night? Rather than the weeknight spin-off it became later on?

No - there was a daily show on BBC Three from Waterfall studios. (Which I suspect was the only BBC Three budget-friendly studio available. When ITT started I suspect the budget went up somewhat with the change of channel)
