The public exhibition of the plans for TV Centre will be on display again in the main reception area, next week.
Details at http://www.television-centre.com/ - though you'll probably find that the website contains about as much information as the exhibition does.

Where will Mock the Week come from now TVC has closed?

Hasn't been announced yet, AFAIK. Plenty of places to choose from. Next series of 10 O'Clock Live is coming from Pinewood, for example.

Watchdog is going to The Hospital Club.

Heh, Annie always used to remark at the top of the programme "We're live from Television Centre."

Heh, Annie always used to remark at the top of the programme "We're live from Television Centre."

Wasn't that following the 'less than overwhelming' response to broadcasting from their office in the White City block, which came across as cheap and tacky, and previous series from TVC which had been recorded?

Perhaps Ms Robinson will just start with "We're live from London"?

The entire Nicky Campbell era of Watchdog was broadcast live from the Watchdog production office wasn't it?

It was, ISTR, but when Annie Robinson returned as presenter, the programmes were initially recorded (although back in TVC).

Perhaps her mantra was in response to both objections. Wink

This was the initial Watchdog office with Nicky and Julia:

But there was one series after with a very dodgy, fake "office" backdrop which was just the foyer of the Media Centre building with some desks and telephones shoved in a corner. The giveaway was the acoustic baffles visible in the background - as dicussed during a The Thick Of It episode.

No - the TVC shows were always live.

The first series after Anne Robinson returned was prerecorded in a 'studio-like' space in the Media Centre, not at TVC. This space was actually just around the corner from the Watchdog production offices in the Media Centre (from where the final live series that Nicky and Julia (or Anita) presented the show was also broadcast from)

For many years before this, the live programme had come from the White City building next door.

I seem to remember the fibres going through something known as "the OB shed" in the yard outside. Ah, technology.

No, she always used to say that when she presented the shows in the late 90s/early 2000s.
