According to Radio Times Friday's One Show will be re-creating the Roy Castle tap-dancing sequence, before linking into the Madness concert which continues over on BBC4 at 7.30pm

That would be why I walked out of the lift in the South Hall to see Matt Baker tap-dancing past in a white suit. Might have ruined one of their takes. Oops.

There are some amazing panoramic shots of both TVC and NBH studios here:

Oh my. I wonder where you find 500-odd tap-dancers on a drizzly Saturday afternoon?

It doesn't seem all that long since R&D moved into TC0. Is there a replacement facility for that (I assume it is closing?)

Talking of tap dancers at the Beeb... found this tribute from BBC staff yesterday:

Also, not strictly related to TVC, but this might interest some on here - a behind the scenes look at BBC Presentation:

With BBC productions now scattered far and wide around the UK, I was wondering what's happening to network BBC1 and BBC2 presentation, where will their home be?

Anybody know?

The Broadcast Centre I would assume.

I'm glad to see that the BBC is bringing some attention to what is really a very historic building. Even to the average Joe who wouldn't be found dead on a site like this, they owe a lot to TVC. I can only assume ITV wouldn't do the same if they sold TLS.

Although to be fair, they're only now billing it as ITV Studios, possibly taking advantage of the fact that TVC is closing.

Nothing at the moment as far as I know. It's been in the hands of a private company called Red Bee and based in the Broadcast Centre for about 10 years now.

I suppose it depends on what happens at the end of that contract - whether Red Bee keep it, it goes to another company or the BBC decide to take it in house again.

It also depends on what happens to the actual building. The BBC are disposing of the buildings in White City at some point so Red Bee will either stay as a tenant under new owners or move somewhere else. They've already moved some of their staff to cheaper office space so I'd have thought playout will follow, probably to somewhere in Chiswick!

Seems unlikely, given they've just shelled out £56m to buy their building outright!
