There's a sneaky view there over Studio E.

Nice clock!

I know probably the wrong thread for this, but how long do we think it will be before the BBC decides to launch of a full 24-hour Spanish language news channel... 'BBC Noticias del Mundo'? I feel that with the English and Arabic services surely Spanish is whats missing, especially if they're trying to expand into the American market.

The 1 minute summary has been round for a few years. Normally done with a CSO, they've probably only moved this bulletin to a newsroom view very recently. And it looks great, naturally.

I was thinking the same a few years ago - they certainly have a good number of correspondents worldwide to do it. I remember after Persian launched, there was interest expressed in future BBC language channels. However, with World Service budgets (which includes both Arabic and Persian channels IIRC) being moved to the license fee from 2014, I can't see it happening for many years yet.

Agreed. Although, with BBC World News becoming more profitable and with viewers on the increase, they may decide its worthwhile.

I'd like them to do something about Rico Hizon's broom cupboard first though... give him a nice big snazzy new studio... theres surely vacant office space in Shaw Towers they could snap up, with a bit of a budjet increase... or perhaps a purpose built studio on the car park roof?

Looking at the webcam this morning, Danny Baker's programme is coming from a different studio:

I assume these are just general purpose studios rather than specifically 5 Live ones?

Were the lifts broken, or the stairs blocked today at NBH?

What other explanation could there be for Andrew Neil doing a live DTL interview with someone sat 3 floors above Studio B?
