I knew that was partially filmed in Salford - didn't know HQ1. In any case, The Voice is the biggest show yet for Media City.
HQ1 was on screen before. They made 'Tonights The Night' there.

I'm pretty sure the ghastly Don't Scare the Hare was from there. And last year's Sports Personality of the Year.
On the subject of the agreement the BBC has with Peel regarding using the Salford studios, would that not just apply to in house productions rather than stuff made by indies for the BBC given that that is something they would sort out for themselves? For instance, the last series of Snog, Marry, Avoid made by Endemol was filmed in studios elsewhere in Manchester rather than MediaCity.

Correct on both accounts.
Don't Scare The Hare was the first show to be recorded in HQ1. A dreadful way to christen a new studio facility. I was in the audience for a non-broadcast pilot hosted by BT Vision's Jake Humphrey back in July, done in HQ1 and when you are standing on the studio floor (which we were - for all 5 hours of it) it's not actually that big, you wouldn't actually think that they managed to get the SPOTY set and seating in (it helped that the BBC Philly orchestra was around the corner in there own home at HQ6) - such is the magic of wide angle tv camera lenses.

I remember Reflex being filmed there too. I was there on the day they filmed the pilot (I was there to watch recording of Citizen Khan and a great meal at Prezzo...) and I remember seeing Jake and lots of people milling around The Studios, as well as the logo on the big screens in the piazza. It was interesting for me to see the effort put in to something that might not ever be seen on screen ... and seemingly that did happen.
I remember at the Edinburgh TV Festival, they talked of a big new Saturday night game show, and I originally thought it was this. Turned out to be Britain's Brightest, which will be filmed at MediaCityUK nonetheless, hosted by Claire Balding.
Also why has filming for In It To Win It moved to Salford from Glasgow?
Sorry for bad memory on the HQ1 front - I was convinced it had been on-screen and I couldn't think of any specific examples.

Or TVC could be too busy... Or maybe Peel did a better deal?

They're being filmed sometime in December.
So you must be right - other reasons are involved. It could be to fulfil quotas but at least HQ1 will finally be on screen (surely they'll use biggest studio - why wouldn't they?!). It was used for a game show pilot called Reflex last time I was there. Presented by Jake Humphrey but it obviously never got commissioned.
Either way, Salford will be a great backdrop for the audition shows - it will look spectacular on screen. Maybe a little windy/cold though

Not TV related but Friday is the final Wittertainment Fivelive film review programme from TVC, moving to NBH next week.

Any other Five Live shows aside from Saturday morning Danny Baker still coming from TVC? I assume that'll be moving to NBH shortly too.

7 Day Sunday did it's last TVC show last weekend so presumably it and Danny Baker will move to NBH this coming weekend
