5 Live's remaining programmes in London are moving in a few weeks. Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode's 5 Live show on Friday is, according to Simon, moving to the brand spanking new NBH in a few weeks' time from the 'dilapidated' Television Centre studio.

I would assume that they are moving in at the same time as the rest of news. Radio 4's PM will be in from start of December.

It would seem logical as presumably they share some engineering or production staff.

I like that pic. It looks as though they've added a semi-circular feature on the newsroom side of the glass wall, so it will appear as though the studio extends out a little further.

Nice touch! Wink

Unless it's to stop mischievous journalists leaving smears on the glass!

I reckon it's probably to stop people walking so close to the glass. Would look a little silly on a close up if someone pesky journalist fills up the entire shot!

Well that confirms the washed out look of the rear projection screens. Look at the difference between the smart glass displays and the plasmas. Is there anything that they can do to balance them out at all?

Don't know how you can say that with any confidence. The only viewing angle that matters is the camera's, wait and see how it comes across on screen.

So I've heard that in 3 weeks we might start seeing some of NBH on screen properly Smile

I was actually going to say how crisp they looked - obviously not as good as the other displays, but a lot better than I expected. Saying that, the lights aren't on in the studio!

Do love the back rail which is obviously designed to link the studio even more with the newsroom. Clever touch.

Great news for Salford that the blind auditions for Series 2 of The Voice will be filmed at MediaCityUK. Arguably their biggest studio to date to be filmed there - it will look fantastic on screen. The piazza and the buildings are very beautiful indeed !

Interesting in that it was done at TVC for the auditions last year, and with that being renovated, they have decided to move that portion of the show up here. I'd expect the rest of the series to be done from Elstree though.

Surely the blind auditions will be filmed before March? If so, TVC would still be open so it must have moved for other reasons.

They're being filmed sometime in December.

So you must be right - other reasons are involved. It could be to fulfil quotas but at least HQ1 will finally be on screen (surely they'll use biggest studio - why wouldn't they?!). It was used for a game show pilot called Reflex last time I was there. Presented by Jake Humphrey but it obviously never got commissioned.

Either way, Salford will be a great backdrop for the audition shows - it will look spectacular on screen. Maybe a little windy/cold though Very Happy
